SQUAB is an idiosyncratic form of squash, characterised by minimal observation of rules, colorful language, and observance of a strict moral code. The game has a long and rich history but is now played by only a handful ... well all right, three individuals, making it the most exclusive competition sport in the world. One of the three founding members now resides in the Netherlands and (when funds allow) jets in to compete at the purpose-built Monash Showers Memorial SQUAB Coliseum in Carlton (Victoria, Australia). SQUAB has been a demonstration sport at the Olympic Games since 1908.
The competition traditionally culminates in the purchase and drinking of a slab (of beer; SQUAB derives from "squash for a slab"). Recent tournaments have seen this fine tradition gradually metamorphose into smaller but more frequent drinking bouts at local SQUAB-sanctioned drinking establishments. Fine food and sparkling conversation accompany the beer.
Although SQUAB began as a sporting organisation, it now fosters
cultural and scientific development on all continents and several
planets. The interests of SQUAB members are about as refined as you
could get.
Major interests of SQUAB members:
Erotomania
Marine Biology
Reproduction
The International Gnome Project
